Humboldt Domestic Violence Services (HDVS) is an independent, non-profit agency dedicated to promoting the rights and welfare of those who have survived or are enduring domestic and intimate partner violence or sex trafficking throughout Humboldt County. We provide many services to survivors; all completely free of charge.The mission of HDVS is to break the cycle of domestic violence, intimate partner violence, and sex trafficking through services, education, and advocacy. St. Joseph Pantry Shelf is an equal opportunity provider for Fortuna, Alton, Carlotta and Hydesville area. To register, potential clients can present a picture ID and A current utility bill. All clients will be asked to register. This process takes about 5-10 minutes. There is an income eligibility requirement established by the United States Department of Agriculture as follows:
Household Size Monthly Household Income Less than: 1 person $1,507.50 2 persons $2,030.00 3 persons $2,552.50 4 persons $3,075.00
The amount of food distributed is based upon THE size of YOUR household. Bags of donated food ARE also provided to those who have an emergency need. There is no income eligibility requirement to receive an emergency bag.

Open: Monday thru Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Closed: from 12:00 noon to 1:00 pm for lunch, some holidays, and Saturday and Sunday but you can call and leave a message that will be answered shortly, hopefully within a couple hours.

Serves the communities of Scotia, Rio Dell, Fortuna, Fields Landing, King Salmon, Eureka, Arcate, McKinleyville, Westhaven, and Trinidad.
Fortuna Transit: The city of Fortuna offers transportation within the city limits to seniors or persons with a disability.
Eligibility: You must be 50 years old or have a disability (any age) If under the age of 50, a doctor's note may be required. Hours of Operation: Monday through Friday- 8:30 am to 4:00 pm PST - 2 buses
How it Works: It is a reservation and dispatcher-based system, which means you call dispatchers to schedule the times you need the bus.
Call 707-725-7625 to schedule reservations and return trips. This dispatch number is available Monday through Friday, starting at 8;00 am PST. The dispatch office is not open on weekends.
Fees: Cash fare is $2.50 each time you board the bus, or you may purchase a card for $22.50, which is good for 15 trips.
